Based in the United Kingdom, Inca was formed when its founders, while working at the prestigious Cambridge Consultants, were asked if it were feasible to print packaging materials at the end of production lines. The rest is history. True to its roots, R&D continues to play a critical role in Inca’s business. Through the successful syntheses of product development and astute commercial awareness, Inca has created an impressive product portfolio in just a few short years. The Columbia, Eagle and Spyder are flatbed printers, a core strength of the company. A new single pass-concept press is in development. Inca presses are targeted at customers requiring short printing runs with high image quality and superior productivity over a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates. The Eagle, Inca’s first market entrant, has now landed in over 17 countries and is used primarily for screen-printing, display graphics, packaging and photo-lab applications. It was soon followed by the Columbia, which targets the corrugated industry with its longer bed size of 3.2 meters by 1.6 meters. The new Turbo version makes the Columbia a true production press. The Eagle and Columbia account for over 100 Inca systems installed worldwide. The Spyder, unlike the Eagle and Columbia, has a fixed bed and a moving carriage. Its development criteria called for photographic image quality. With up to 1000 dpi resolution and a format of 1.5 meters by 1 meter, the Spyder can print up to an impressive 50 square meters per hour. When it comes to high performance full color imaging of primary and secondary packaging, the new Inca single pass press will set new limits in terms of speed, quality and format size. It will print an astonishing 3000 square meters per hour and be in beta test in Q1 2005. These very impressive UV ink based printers and production presses are based on a variety of Spectra printheads, making Inca’s relationship with Dimatix strong. “We take great pride in our R&D skills and capabilities and are very thorough in all our evaluations and decision-making processes. The selection of a printhead and its manufacturer is as critical as the choice of markets to address. Developing strong relationships with suppliers is critical and that’s one of the reasons why we chose Dimatix.” INCABill Baxter Managing Director – Inca Product: Application: Printhead: Ink Type: Jets Per System: Printhead Features: customer profile www.dimatix.com Galaxy JA 256/30 SL-128 Columbia Spyder 150 Columbia, Eagle, Spyder Indoor & Outdoor Displays and Corrugated Packaging Printing Spectra® Galaxy & S-Class UV Curable Up to 8000 for Flatbed Printers Ultra High Resolution and High Performance Inca stormed onto the scene in 2000 to quickly become a leading developer and manufacture of high performance flatbed printing systems.
